UAW Needs Economics Lesson

After years of artificially raising the cost of automotive parts production, the UAW continues to shoot itself in the foot. Don't get me wrong, management has done its part in this company's demise. But, to continue the threat of strike while your employer is on its last leg?? You DESERVE to lose your job...move to France where they can't fire you (oh, I forgot, France isn't letting anyone in!).

You are threatening to ruin our country's economy. There are plenty of people willing to work for market wages. Maybe some our left-wing friends know some illegal aliens that would appreciate the opportunity.

I laughed very hard at your latest bark Will. I just bought a nearly new Chrysler PT Cruiser. Not because it was a better car than the comparable options of Honda and Toyota (not even close), but it was my way of trying to keep that Titanic afloat. The UAW is looking after their own collective asses and not thinking about the long term ramifications of the American Auto industry going belly-up. You are correct in that management has made their own pin-headed moves. But that strike story on Reuters makes you want to throw your hands up and trade your Chrysler for a Corolla.
PS. I just posted a new blog you may find interesting.

Will & Milt. Thanks for the kind words on my blog, as well as the consideration given as a contributor. I am flattered and would love to jump aboard and help in your mission. How can I help? What do you have in mind? I am sending this note as "anonymous" as I am still in my office and don't remember my log-in (figures!).

By the way, it's Dardin Edward flying incognito...

I guess we would just send you the log-in info...then, post away! I will get Milt's ok tomorrow.

Actually, Chuck...Detroit is helped by Dardin. By purchasing a used PT Cruiser, he is helping maintain a used car market for his PT. Nobody would buy a car that had no prospect for resale.

The picture is old but cool.

Thanks for stopping by.

Well chuck, I bought my slammin' Turbo 2004 PT Cruiser from a certified Chrysler dealership so it does add to Daimler Chrysler's bottom line in some form. In addition, the parts I buy from now on will be American in nature (if those still exist)so again, more capital will circulate in mother America.
As to the "old" photo?... Have you ever heard the word "Circa"? Vintage? Sepia? Metaphoric? I think posting a vintage pic is a cool way to make a visual impact with depth and creativity. Its not for journalistic re-enforcing, but for a visceral confirmation of the topic... But thats just me.

Will, send me a note at dardin_edward@hotmail.com Don't worry, its my "junk" email box so my secret identity is still safe :)I will keep an eye out for your email.
