People should be able to disagree without CRYING! That is what personal attacks are: adult crying. Anger is nearly always the result of fragile little egos.
The GOOD thing is that usually means that even THEY feel like they cannot win in the arena of ideas. Thus, the defensiveness that motivates their actions (and also the lack of solutions that they have to offer).

I just left a comment on Dave's blog on how silly this whole personal bashing of media personalities is. It's like a sport for local comsuption and to stir up whatever base or choir you are preaching to, but does little else in terms of solutions. As a somewhat nuetral observer I too can attest that the left engages in this far more that the right does. But silly is silly no matter the volume.
